1920s
As federal prohibition agents tasked with enforcing anti-drinking laws converge on the Catlow Speakeasy, Sallie schemes to con the Jewel Baron out of his loot, while the elusive "Commodore" hides in plain sight of U.S. Marshals.
THE SETUP
Max uses his connections at the speakeasy to lay in wait for the baron to strike the Jewelry Exchange, and subsequently sets up a one-off cash drop, which, in turn, leads to a perfect storm (of charades) unto encircling law men.
THE PAYOFF
Meanwhile, the unplanned yet serendipitous entrance of the town floozie, Norma, results in the accidental-abandonment-of-a-suitcase-full-of-clothes becoming a decoy for the ages and leading the baron on a wild goose chase for the jewels.
